First phase of distribution of financial assistance has been completed:Chief Relief Commissioner Punjab

Lahore: Chief Relief Commissioner Punjab Nadeem Ashraf has said that the first phase of distribution of financial assistance among flood affectees has been completed in a comprehensive manner. He said that a transparent survey was conducted by the officers of NADRA, Revenue Department and district administration and compensation of Rs. 25 thousand each was paid to the heads of flood affected families at the payment centers.

He said that committees comprising judges, senior government officers, district officers and members of national and provincial assemblies were also constituted to redress the grievance of flood-hit people in this regard. He further said that distribution of financial assistance among flood affetees of South Punjab has also been completed in a transparent manner.

Chief Relief Commissioner Nadeem Ashraf said that a sum of Rs.52 crore 88 lakh rupees was distributed among 21173 families in South Punjab. He said that 25 crore 92 lakh rupees were given to 10388 families of Multan, 24 crore 74 lakh rupees to 9897 families of Muzaffargarh and two crore 22 lakh rupees to 888 flood affected families of Bahawalpur.
