Lahore: Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar has said that Punjab government was with flood-hit people in this testing time, he was addressing the large gathering of people in Toba Tek Singh, Peer Mehal, Kamalia and several other flood- stricken areas of Punjab.
He said that the number of casualties ha been quite low due to the hectic efforts undertaken by the Punjab “We, on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, have taken various effective safety measures in the area to extend the help to poor in this hard time,” he added.
“Eight emergency flood relief camps have been established in the areas of Toba Tek Singh, Peer Mehal, Kamalia, Maoza Ravi Khokhar, Jhallar Shagla. These camps have every necessary facility including essential medicines. Doctors and paramedical staff are also there to serve the ailing masses”.
