Shahbaz Sharif express visits to flood hit areas,inspects relief activities and criticized Imran Khan

CM among people of affected areas Shahbaz Sharif visist flood hit area Badomalhi Shahbaz Sharif visist flood hit area Jalalpur BhatianLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited flood-hit areas of Chiniot, Sargodha, Qadirabad, Basti Makhdoom of Tehsil Phalia (Mandi Bahauddin) for eight hours today and reviewed rescue and relief activities. While addressing flood affectees, public meetings and various meetings, the Chief Minister said that he will reach every place of flood and spare no effort for providing relief to the affectees.

Shahbaz Sharif said that he will not rest content till the rehabilitation of last affectee. He said whether there are conspiracies or flood, he will always stand with the people. He said that he will live and die with the people.

The Chief Minister said that Imran Khan tells a new lie daily. He said that we are not defaulters but defaulters are in Imran Khan’s ranks. People ask what revolution Imran Khan wants to bring with the help of tax evaders and those who have committed dacoity of billions of rupees in banks, he questioned. Shahbaz Sharif said that he will encourage those officers taking active part in relief activities and serving the people in this hour of trial but will not tolerate that officer even a single day showing negligence in this regard.

While addressing a meeting in Basti Makhdoom of Tehsil Phalia, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed the administration to provide dry ration, food and drinking water to the marooned people on priority basis. While announcing to send three thousand more tents in affected areas, he said that the affectees should not consider themselves alone as he is with them at every moment and efforts will be continued for their complete rehabilitation.

A briefing was given to the Chief Minister in the meeting. It was told that more than 5000 people have been shifted to the safer places and more than 9000 cattle have been vaccinated. There is proper arrangement of fodder for livestock while food and other arrangements have been made for affectees in affected areas. Shahbaz Sharif during meeting with flood affectees in Basti Makhdoom, inquired about their problems and issued on the spot orders for their resolution. Talking to the affectees, Shahbaz Sharif said that he is not such a Chief Minister who is busy in music programmes in Islamabad while the people are in distress. The Chief Minister said that he is standing with the people at every moment and every hour of trial.

Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif landed his helicopter on unpaved land in flood-hit area of Qadirabad without any programme. Upon seeing the Chief Minister, people gathered in large numbers and raised slogans of Shahbaz Sharif Zindabad. He reviewed relief activities in Qadirabad and inquired from affectees about their problems. Shahbaz Sharif reviewed the facilities being provided at relief center in Midh Ranjha of Sargodha and issued necessary instructions on the spot. He met the flood affectees and while addressing them said that their losses will be compensated much before their expectations and financial assistance will be distributed among affected people. He said that he is visiting every village, town and city for rehabilitation work. He said that no negligence will be tolerated in rescue and relief activities.

The Chief Minister addressing the administrative officers in Sargodha said that those officers of the administration who will work will be encouraged but the officer showing negligence will not be spared even for a single day. He said that flood is a test not only for him but it is the test of public representatives and officers as well. During the visit to flood-hit areas in Chiniot, the Chief Minister reviewed relief activities in relief camps.

DCO Chiniot gave a briefing about relief activities. Talking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that protection of human lives is priority of the government but there should be no shortage of fodder and medicines for the livestock as well. He said that federal and provincial governments are standing with flood affectees in this hour of distress and people’s government will discharge its responsibilities, therefore, flood affectees should not worry.

The Chief Minister ordered to provide 14 more fiber boats to district administration Chiniot. He directed district administration to set up a tent village at protective dyke for flood affectees and make arrangements for setting up medical camp, veterinary dispensary, fodder for animals, eatable items for affected people and other facilities. He directed that relief camps should be set up near affected villages and all necessary steps should be taken for protection of life and property of people. He said that losses of affectees will also be compensated.

Shahbaz Sharif as per his promise again visited Jalalpur Bhattian (Hafizabad) to review the arrangements made for the affectees. The Chief Minister had spent six hours with the marooned people at Jalalpur Bhattian the other day and returned late at night after making arrangements for the evacuation of affectees.

The Chief Minister suddenly arrived at Jalalpur Bhattian today evening and met the people. On arrival of the Chief Minister, people raised slogans of Shahbaz Sharif Zindabad. Expressing their views, they said that boats have arrived and you have fulfilled the promise of visiting again for which they are thankful to Chief Minister.
