Court work needs awareness in Information Technology: Reform Judge, Syed Mansoor Ali Shah

Lahore High CourtLahore: On the direction of Hon’ble Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Hon’ble Reform Judge, Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, the Reform Judge met the Court Officers to discuss reform proposals in Punjab Judicial Academy. Registrar, Mr. Salah-ud-Din, Director General of Academy, Syed Khurshid Anwar Rizvi, all the Private Secretaries and Court Associates besides supervisory officers attended the meeting

Addressing the participants, the Reform Judge said that court work needs proper planning and awareness in Information Technology (IT) in order to ensure quick disposal of cases. He advised the officers not to remain shy of Information Technology, the countries lacking interest in this field are lagging far behind. He advised the officials that future lies in the IT and suggested courses for the court staff in the IT University and Punjab Judicial Academy for honing their skills and making them IT friendly.

He stressed the need for carrying on manual as well as computer work side by side for a certain span of time. Initially, it will be a burdensome but in the near future it will herald in an era of development and easy lifestyle helping fast dispensation of justice besides getting rid off the laborious manual file work.

The Hon’ble Reform Judge sensitized the Court Officers to develop a mechanism for categorization and management of cases. “There should be a similar and uniform format as well as font for Court Orders for all the Judges of Lahore High Court”, he concluded.
