CM visits rain hit cities,condoles on the deaths

CM PUNJAB-4Lahore:Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that he will visit every nook and corner of the province for the help and looking after of brothers and sisters in distress. The Chief Minister said that he will not rest content till complete rehabilitation of all persons affected due to flood and rains. He said that rains are a test but we will overcome this difficult time with the grace of Almighty Allah and cooperation of the people. He said that Punjab government will spare no effort in helping the affectees.

He was addressing the people who gathered about knowing the arrival of Chief Minister at Sialkot, Kamonke, Muridke, Daska and Gujranwala today.  Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that people of the province will find him with them like ever before. He said that meeting with the challenge created by flood and rains is the collective responsibility of CM PUNJAB-2 CM PUNJAB-3public representatives and administrative officers. He expressed the hope that no negligence will be shown in this regard. He said that the officer who does not consider himself able to serve the people should find any other job.

The Chief Minister said that government is utilizing its resources for the rehabilitation of affectees but officers and public representatives should go out instead of sitting in offices for discharging their responsibilities. He said it is also obligation of public representatives to serve the people who have elected them through their votes. Shahbaz Sharif said that emergency has been imposed in the province, flood alert has been declared. The Chief Minister said that he has directed all provincial ministers to visit various districts to supervise relief activities.

Similarly, provincial secretaries have also been ordered to visit various districts instead of sitting in offices and discharge their duties regarding flood and play their due role for mitigating the sufferings of the people in distress, he added. Shahbaz Sharif said that bad weather condition cannot stop him and if there is no helicopter, he will reach through his car to far-flung areas and where car could not go, he will reach by foot.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister presided over a meeting of administrative officers, public representatives and heads of concerned departments in Sialkot. He said that the performance of the officers will be judged on the basis of their participation in relief activities and practical interest. He said that those officers and officials who will display sense of responsibility will be fully encouraged. Shahbaz Sharif while reprimanding the administration  for not making long term planning for controlling the losses being caused to rural and urban localities due to flood in Sialkot said that poor performance cannot be covered by use of beautiful words.
