Lahore: In connection with the Independence Day celebrations, Jashn-e-Azadi walk has been organized by the Postgraduate Medical Institute on Tuesday from Birdwood Road to Shadman Chowk.
Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health, Khawaja Salman Rafiq led the walk. Besides, Principal PGMI Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra, MS Lahore General Hospital Dr. Pervaiz Imtiaz, students of Ameer-ud-Din Medical College, Postgraduate College of Nursing and Nursing School of LGH participated in the walk.
At the end of walk, the student nurses presented national anthem. On the occasion, talking to the media, Kh. Salman Rafiq said that government had announced to celebrate whole month of August as Month of Independence under which different programmes and walks are being organized. He said that the purpose of these programmes and events is to create awareness among the young generation about the Pakistan movement and sensitize them about the objectives of creation of Pakistan.
