Shahbaz Sharif talks to PML-N assembly members, office-bearers and workers in Islamabad

Shahbaz SharifLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that solution to the problems being faced by Pakistan and putting it on the road to progress and prosperity is the mission of Pakistan Muslim League-N and no effort will be spared for its achievement. He said that economy has improved due to excellent policies of the government and investment of billions of rupees is being made in the country while its foreign exchange reserves have also increased. In such a situation there is no justification for politics of protest and anarchy, he added.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan has embarked on the journey to development and prosperity and no revolutionary or long march can hamper this process. He said that conspiracies of the enemies of progress and development will never succeed and the masses will bury their politics of damaging national unity and solidarity forever.

He was addressing Pakistan Muslim League-N assembly members, office-bearers and workers in Islamabad, today. The Chief Minister said that the former rulers of Punjab set records of loot, corruption and nepotism in the name of development schemes and no uplift project was completed during their tenure. He said that PML-N government turned these graveyards of corruption into monuments to development.

He said that a corruption-free culture has been promoted in the province during last six years and mega development projects have been executed in a highly transparent manner. He said that no corruption scandal has surfaced in the tenure of the present government and even its opponents cannot accuse the present leadership of corruption of a single penny. He said that living standard of the masses has improved due to development programmes and welfare schemes of the Punjab government. He said that investment of billions of dollars is coming into the country due to investment- friendly policies of the government.

Shahbaz Sharif said that promotion of investment in the country is essential for elimination of poverty and unemployment while political stability is of vital importance for investment. He said that it is lamentable that some elements have no interest in the national development or prosperity of the masses and want to destabilize the country to discourage foreign investors. However, he said, people of Pakistan are enlightened and will reject these elements and pay no heed to their calls for protest. He said that situation prevailing in the country does not allow any long march or politics of anarchy and it is time to raise the morale of officers and jawans of armed forces who are fighting against terrorists to ensure a safe and secure future for the next generation.

He said that it is not the time for negative politics or confrontation but to help displaced brethren and sisters of North Waziristan. He said that it is the need of the hour that the whole nation should unite and every member of the society should play his role for bringing the country out of problems.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of torture and murder of a cameraman by crushing him under a vehicle in Vehari and sought a report from DPO Vehari. The Chief Minister directed that the accused involved in the incident be arrested and action should be taken against them under the law for providing justice to the aggrieved family. Meanwhile, on the instructions of Chief Minister, police has arrested eleven persons involved in the incident.
