Imran Khan and his party leaders are continuously telling lie about Nandipur Power Project :Abid Sher Ali

Abid Sher AliLahore: Federal Minister of State, Abid Sher Ali has said that the statements issued against Nandipur are a bunch of lie and those telling lie during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak should fear of God.

Talking to media-men at Nandipur, he said that as per announcement of the government, at present, 95 megawatt electricity is being added to the national grid and the representative journalists have personally seen it.

He said that in a PTI public meeting, Imran Khan had announced that he will not tell a lie to the people but Imran Khan and his party leaders are continuously telling lie about Nandipur Power Project. He said there is no reality in the accusation of PTI politicians that Nandipur Power Plant has developed fault due to running on diesel whereas the fact is that Nandipur Power Plant is a combine cycle power plant which has the ability of running on three fuels like diesel, furnace oil and gas, therefore, the question of developing any fault due to running on diesel does not arise.

Abid Sher Ali invited Imran Khan to visit the plant and personally see the plant in function and if he has any moral courage, he should announce to withdraw the baseless statements of his party leaders.

Minister of State said that the wrong statements issued about Nandipur Power Project can be judged from the fact that Sheikh Rasheed has said that there has become shortage of gas in Gujranwala due to running the Nandipur Power Project on gas. He said the fact is that no gas pipe line has been laid for the supply of gas to the plant so far.

Abid Sher Ali said that the other statements have also no reality. He said that Nandipur Power Plant comprises four turbines and its first turbine has started producing 95 megawatt electricity. He said that due to the construction of remaining three turbines, sometimes there has been shutdown due to technical reasons.

Abid Sher Ali said that Sheikh Rasheed has been the part of such government of a dictator for more than ten years which did not add even a single megawatt to national grid during this period. He said it is only possible in Pakistan that the politicians like Sheikh Rasheed instead of feeling shame on their inefficiencies, criticize welfare projects of political opponents with stubbornness.

Abid Sher Ali said that the present government not only working round the clock for enhancing the electricity production but also making efforts for improving transmission system. He said that 2500 megawatt electricity will be saved after improving the transmission system. He told that in the past, corruption of six to seven billion rupees has been committed in the purchase of transformers and a corruption case will be sent to NAB.

Provincial Law Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that the provincial government headed by Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is extending full cooperation to the federal government regarding all projects including Nandipur Power Project and the interest of Khadim-e-Punjab in Nandipur Power Project is its proof.

Law Minister said that the object of his visit along with the Minister of State is to further improving the cooperation between federal and provincial governments. He said that other plants will be completed by December.
