Pak-Army is ensuring security of the country by eliminating terrorists: Rana Mashud

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law, Education and Youth Affairs Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that Pak-Army is ensuring security of the country by eliminating terrorists through its operation Zarb-e-Azb. The nation is imbued with the spirit of sacrifice for their displaced brethren unitedly in the accomplishment of this great mission who had been besieged by the terrorists as human shield in North Waziristan, he added.

He expressed these views while addressing the owners of elite private schools and principals of public sector and private colleges of the province in a function regarding fund raising for IDPs held at Directorate of Staff Development Lahore today.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that these IDPs are our patriotic Pakistani brethren and Pak-Army and federal government will provide every facility to them with the cooperation of the people. He said that we will have to put our share jointly for this purpose. He said that operation Zarb-e-Azb will continue till the elimination of last terrorist in Pakistan. He expressed the hope that when IDPs will return to their homes they will live in a peaceful and prosperous atmosphere.

Rana Mashhood said that living nations are recognized through the active and dynamic spirit of their youth and they move ahead with the spirit of sacrifice. He said that Pakistani youth will also come forward voluntarily for providing facilities to their brethren and sisters displaced from North Waziristan and will prove through their act that Pakistani nation is a living nation which resolves its problems through its own resources.

Member Punjab Assembly Mohtarma Tahia Noon announced on behalf of administration of educational institutions that they will donate cheques for financial assistance for IDPs on behalf of their institutions in Chief Minister’s relief fund on July 9 by gathering again at Alhamra Hall Lahore.

Later, talking to media, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said law enforcement agencies will ensure that no terrorist in the guise of IDPs should join the network of extremists through our urban areas. He said that police and secret agencies should be allowed to work in a coordinating manner. He said that hooliganism is not the solution to any problem.

He said that electoral reforms are need of the hour and the parliament is only a legal and constitutional forum for this purpose. He said that the federal government has made nominations in special parliamentary committee for making amendments in the election laws. He said that if Imran Khan is serious in electoral reforms then why he is not nominating his assembly members for this purpose.

He said that military operation has been started against Taliban as they want that their demands be accepted through force and lawlessness instead of constitution and law. He said that Imran Khan should display political maturity as 76 lakh voters had expressed their confidence in him in general elections to play his due role in the assemblies.

He said that those making claims of bringing revolution in a few weeks, in fact, want to hoodwink the people and are trying to sabotage the development process in the country.
