Lahore: Pakistani teachers won six medals including one gold and two silvers in an international teaching competition held at Turkey.
Three hundred and forty four teachers from different countries participated in the 2nd International Teaching Knowledge Competition titled, “Teachers are Competing,” to show their skills in English, Turkish, math, biology, physics, computer, chemistry, junior section and preschool categories.
The performance of competing teachers was judged by twenty-eight judges to award those who proved their innovative and creative approaches in a forty-five-minute lecture, said Kamil Ture, Director Education PakTurk Schools while talking to reporters.
He said that we have been applying an innovative approach to teaching and inspiring students; adoption of new technologies and development of highly effective ways has worked well which is evident from our success, he said.
Kamil Ture informed that last year Pakistan won one gold medal in the same competition but this year PakTurk teachers won one gold, two silvers, one bronze, one honourable mention and one special prize.
In Turkish language teaching category, Erdogan Hozan got worldwide first place. In the class teacher category Ms Sadia Naseem got second position worldwide to receive a silver medal and Ms Farahhoon Qureshi also got second place worldwide and received a silver medal in the pre-school category.
Likewise, in Chemistry teaching category Mr Mustafa Yilmaz received bronze medal and in English language teaching category, last year’s Gold Medallist Mr Suhail Aziz got fourth position. Mr. Israr Ali was given special prize as the most senior teacher among all the participants.
All the winners also received certificates and cash prizes from the organisers of the event as recognition immediately boosts the morale of teacher.
