Rigging is a biggest threat to democracy in Pakistan:Ijaz Ch

PTILahore: President PTI Punjab, Ijaz Chaudry said that blatant rigging committed by the PML(N) is  the biggest threat to democracy in Pakistan and called it denial of rights of Pakistanis. PTI tried to get its election complaints redressed through the tribunals and courts for one year but was disappointed. He was addressing a press conference here at Lahore Press Club.

Dr Yasmin Rashid, Candidate NA128 Haji Karamat Khokhar, PP160 Abbas Khokhar, PP161 Ch Khalid Gujjar and their lawyers were also present at the occasion.

Ijaz Ch said that the scheduled 25th May anti rigging rally of Faisalabad will be a great success because people are wary of failures of this government and that is making the Punjab and federal government nervous.

Ijaz Chaudry referred to the observations of election tribunal’s judge of NA-128 and PP-160 as eye opening and shocking. A serving patwari was given the responsibilities of Assistant Presiding Officer and he was caught stamping ballot papers red-handed by our candidate Zaheer Abbas Khokhar. Nadra declared the record of polling station 116 of NA-128 tampered and later it was established that the record was never deposited.

The then RO has been transferred to Wazirabad and the ARO of polling station 95 of PP 160 hasn’t been attending the court despite repeated summons. These collaborators of rigging are wasting the time of the honorable court and I will personally attend the next hearing scheduled for 29th to see what excuse they would give this time.

He concluded that PTI has been waiting for one year to get justice and will keep on struggling until justice is served and the culprits held accountable. We owe it to our country and our people that their mandates will never be stolen again.
