Malik Nadeem Kamran inaugurates FIT Skill Fair

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Zakat & Ushr Malik Nadeem Kamran has said that skilled persons have played an important role for making under developed countries as developed countries. He said that the young generation besides earning livelihood for their families can also play their active role in developing national economy by benefitting vocational education.

He expressed these views while addressing the participants of FIT Skill Fair held under the aegis of Punjab Vocational Training Council at Children Library Complex here today.

Technical & Vocational Education and Training Reforms Support Programme provided financial assistance for this function. Chairman PVTC Faisal Ijaz Khan, MD Sajid Naseer, Board Members and concerned officers were present on the occasion.

Provincial Minister said that due to the best performance of Punjab Vocational Training Council in technical education, its budget has been increased from 19 percent to 40 percent.  He said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is interested in promotion of technical education in the province, that is why, he has increased the PVTC budget considerably.

Malik Nadeem Kamran said that government is monitoring the efforts being made for promotion of technical education by PVTC. He said that Punjab government is thankful to European Union, Netherlands and Federal Republic of Germany on launching skill programmes.

Malik Nadeem Kamran said that courses are being conducted by PVTC for capacity-building of teachers which are yielding positive results. He said that services of master trainers have been acquired from Germany, America and other countries for providing training to the teachers of vocational training institutes. He said that PVTC is playing a commendable role in national development. He said that PVTC has made one lakh persons useful citizens of the society by providing innovative training.

Chairman PVTC Faisal Ijaz Khan stressed the need for skill persons for the development of national economy, therefore, government and other institutions will have to make joint efforts for making young generation skillful. Later, Provincial Minister inaugurated FIT skill fair, visited various stalls and appreciated the art and skill of the artisans.
