Ex-servicemen to respect court’s judgement in Musharraf’s case

Lt-Gen-Ali-Kuli-KhanLahore: The Pakistan Ex-servicemen Association on Monday said it would respect and accept court’s judgement in the case of Genera (Retd) Musharraf.

In a statement issued here today, President PESA Lt Gen Ali Kuli Khan, SVP Vice Admiral Ahmad Tasnim, Air Marshal Masood Akhtar, EVP Brig Mian Mahmud, General Secretary, Brig Syed Masud ul Hassan and other members of the Executive Council said that PESA has full trust in the higher judiciary and considers Supreme Court as the final arbiter of law and Constitution in the country.

The former military leaders said that holding of Musharraf’s trial has been the basic demand of PESA from ‘Day One’ of its founding. PESA stands by that basic demand.

The piecemeal statements of some members of PESA appear to have created an impression that there is some division within PESA about the trial of General Musharraf (Retd) for violation of Article 6 of the Constitution which is incorrect, they said. There are no differences among members on this issue.

The former military leaders said that they would fully respect court’s judgment in the case.
