IGP addressed the 53 participants of 100th National Management Course

This was stated by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Khan Baig, while addressing the 53 participants of 100th National Management Course at Central Police Office, Lahore. Nine Faculty Members along with five lady officers were also included. Addl: IGP Punjab, Sarmad Saeed Khan, Addl: IGP Training, Capt. (R) Muhammad Usman Khattak, Addl: IGP Investigation Punjab, Khaliq Dad Lak, DIG Special Branch Punjab, Javaid Islam, DIG Headquarters Punjab, Muhammad Tahir, DIG Establishment, Amjad Javaid Saleemi and other officers of CPO were present in the meeting.

On this occasion, IGP told that recently 1500 officials in CTD and 500 Sub-inspectors who appeared before public service commission have gone through this psychological test. While talking about the challenges being faced by the Punjab police Baig said that the force is trying its best to meet such challenges of terrorism, extremism, sectarianism and sophisticated crime with the cooperation of other law enforcing agencies.

Provincial Police Chief further said that to get benefit with the expertise of other countries in criminal investigation and technical training, MOUs were already signed with the Punjab police. The syllabus in all police training schools was also modified, added the IGP.

Khan Baig also told that the establishment of latest Integrated Command, Control and Communication in Lahore is under process. This project will help in crime control, prevent to crime and better management of traffic in Lahore. Later on, this project will be expanded in other big cities of the province. Establishment of model police stations, Police Record & Office Management Information System (PROMIS), Pakistan Automated Fingerprint Identification System (PAFIS) and installation of GPS tracking system in operational vehicles of police are the prominent initiatives of the police department.

Provincial police chief further told that a fast track promotion policy has also been introduced under which fifty percent sub-inspectors could be promoted through public service commission, whereas, fifty percent through departmental promotion board.

Earlier, Addl: IGP Punjab, Sarmad Saeed Khan briefed the delegation about the structural organization, operational working, budget and performance of the Punjab police.

Later, IGP and NMC participants exchanged souvenirs with each others.

While answering a question of media at CPO, IGP said that he took the notice of registration of case against 9 months old baby in Lahore and seeks report of the incident. He ensured the media that strict departmental action will be taken against those who founded to be guilty in this matter.
