APCNGA expresses reservation over ST Ordinance

Lahore: The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) on Thursday expressed reservations over recently promulgated Sales Tax Amendment Ordinance, 2014 terming it detrimental to the CNG sector.APCNGA

The association has informed FBR about reservations and sought immediate remedy, said a press release issued here today.

According to the details, a delegation of APCNGA headed by its Central Chairman Pervaiz Khan Khattak visited FBR and had a detailed meeting with Member Inland Revenue Shahid Hassan Asad and Chief Sales Tax Ashfaq Ahmed.

The delegation included APCNGA’s SVC Brig. (retd) Iftikhar, Awais Khawaja, Babar Qazi and others.

The CNG owners told the tax officials that the Ordinance is confusing while some clauses are conflicting. Moreover, the CNG operators have been denied to claim refund of Sales Tax in inputs which will compromise their interests.

Member Inland Revenue told the delegation that government will never discriminate against any sector and will not put additional burden on the CNG industry.

He asked the APCNGA’s officials to forward implementable proposals so that the same could be considered sympathetically and issue be resolved at the earliest.
