Lahore High Court Complaint Cell has disposed off its notice “female homeopathic doctor attacked her lover with acid” as police report has been submitted in the Anti-Terrorism Court and was sent to judicial lock up. As the needful has been done and for the time being no further directions are required by the Cell on administrative side.
According to details, Muhammad Naveed Ahmed, 24, of Faisal Town in Mian Channu had an affair with Dr. Naheed Chaudhry, 28, who ran a private clinic in Chak 114/15-L. He had first met her when he visited her clinic for treatment of his skin allergy. Naveed’s parents had recently arranged his marriage with his cousin, but he had not disclosed this to Dr. Naheed and she learnt about Naveed’s wedding through a common friend.
The next day, Naheed called Naveed at her clinic. As soon as he entered the clinic, she threw acid at his face and fled away. However, he managed to save his body, but his face was badly hurt. Victim was taken to a private clinic, from where he was referred to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Mian Channu. Doctors treating him said that a part of his face had burned and was at risk of losing vision in one eye.
On a press report LHC Complaint Cell took cognizance of the issue and directed District & Sessions Judge Khanewal to probe into the incident and submit a detailed report as to the steps taken by the police along with his own comments so as to reach Lahore High Court within a week. The said Sessions Judge reported that City Khanewal police registered a case against accused Dr. Naheed and arrested her.
The acid and other clothes were sent to Punjab Forensic Science Agency for analysis and the result had been received. The culprit was found guilty during course of investigation and sent to judicial lock up. Police report u/s 173 Cr.P.C. against the accused has also been submitted in the Court of Law, where the case is under trial.
