Pakistan Attempted Another World Record of Waving Flags

The Pakistani Youth aspired this honour with the participation of 56,263 enthusiasts. Earlier Argentinean people created this record with the participation of 49,850 individuals. GWR will officially announce that the attempt made by Pakistanies has been  successful.

Chief Minister Punjab Mian M. Shahbaz Sharif graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Diplomats from around 14 countries, Members of National and Provincial Assemblies, Provincial Minister for Sports Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Secretary Sports M. Khan Khichi, DG Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Mr. Usman Anwar and other dignitaries were also present at the occasion.

In all, Pakistan Youth has aspired 29 Records till Saturday during the ongoing Punjab Youth Festival. More than 60,000 students of different Educational Institutions took part in the Record Making Activity. The Mega Event was started with the name of Allah Almighty followed by National Anthem. The moments were worth watching when the best athletes of the country handed over the Games’ baton to each other and then at the end, Olympian Khawaja Junaid Ahmad lit the torch to open the Games.

The youth then displayed their skills in , Gymnastic And Aerobics and amused the massive  crowd. Most of them kept on chanting slogans ‘Pakistan Zindabad’. The renowned singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sajjad Ali and others also sang and kept the spectators enchanted with their outstanding performances.

Chief Minister Punjab Mian M.Shahabaz Sharif came on stage and formally announced opening of Punjab Youth Festival.

During the successful attempt of aspiring the Flag Waving Record, all the participants kept Waving Flags for five minutes. While the sight of beautiful and colorful fireworks also entertained the gathering.

Talking to the massive gathering after aspiring the world record, Mr. Minister Rana Mashood  said: “It is a big success of Pakistani Nation and I congratulate to all. Our youth has shown unity and discipline while aspiring the Argentinean record which is really commendable.”

“Those, who want to see the passion, must visit the National Hockey Stadium. It is the same youth which broke the largest human flag record and now they are vying to achieve another feat by breaking maximum people Waving Flags which added more honour to the record breaking Nation,” he added.

“We will not lose hope but we are determined and ready to challenge every problem being faced by the Nation as we will overcome them gradually. We are preparing youth by providing them modern facilities and the time is not far when they will be able to shoulder the country with great responsibility,” Mr. Minister added.

Earlier, Mr. Minister lauded the efforts of the organizers for arranging the mega event in a befitting manner.

Speaking at the occasion, DG SBP Usman Anwar said: “The credit goes to the management who arranged the entire Mega Event with a great discipline. The participants, on the other hand, have also made great contributions.”

Minister Rana Mashhood also presented this year’s first Guinness World Record (GWR) certificate to Punjab CM Mian Shahbaz Sharif. This certificate was given to Pakistani youth on making the Largest Human Flag at the National Hockey Stadium. Pakistan snatched this record from Bangladesh who achieved this feat with the participation of 27,117 individuals.

Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Sports and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan along with DG Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Usman Anwar visited Expo Centre.

The Grand Exhibition is being organized under the aegis of Ministry of Science and Technology. Several public, private and educational institutions have participated in the gigantic exhibition which also features Book Fair and exhibition of Agriculture Sector. Thousands of students from 47 Universities arranged 75 stalls.

Talking to media, Minister said: “Punjab Government will continue to promote the talents of youth in various fields through Punjab Youth Festival (PYF). This immense potential will play a highly constructive role for the prosperous future of Pakistan in the years to come.”
