81 Membered _Indian Delegation_ Arrived _In_ Pakiatn_ To_ Take_ Part_ In_ Pakistan-India _Punjab_ Games 81 Membered _Indian Delegation_ Arrived _In_ Pakiatn_ To_ Take_ Part_ In_ Pakistan-India _Punjab_ GamesLahore: Bophinder Singh-led 81-member Indian delegation arrived on Saturday for the Pakistan-India Punjab Games being held under the auspices of the Punjab Youth Festival (PYF) 2014.

MPA Madiha Rana along with officials of Sports Board Punjab (SBP) and a large number of enthusiastic sports lovers received the guests at Wahga Border. The Indian contingent includes 66 athletes and 15 officials.

Speaking at the occasion, Bophinder Singh thanked the Punjab people for their warm welcome and confessed that Punjab people are really great hosts. “We had heard about the hospitality of Punjab people and now with this remarkable welcome, they have proved it.” He said that his team players have prepared well for the Mega Event and are very excited to take on Pakistani players. “We will try our best to win maximum events of Punjab Games and if we do not win, we will win the hearts of the Pakistani people.”

He stressed upon holding maximum number of events between the two neighbouring countries setting aside all the harsh memories of the past. “Sports create peace, harmony and good relations among the countries. We are hopeful that the successful holding of Pakistan-India Punjab Games will bring the people of both the countries closer and help in strengthening our relations.”

Speaking at the occasion, MPA Madiha Rana said: “Pakistan has always taken first step towards friendship between two countries, we went to Indian Punjab and now, the Indian delegation came here to take part in the Punjab Games. It will surely help in improving relations of both the countries.”

The two-day Punjab Games, which are one of the major parts of the Punjab Youth Festival (PYF) 2014 events, will stroll into action from March 3. The athletes of both the countries are quite determined to exhibit their prowess in their respective sports.

The different venues of the city will host the competitions between the two arch-rivals. Punjab Stadium will host the events of Mud-Wrestling, Tug-Of-War And Kabaddi (Men And Women) While The Bodybuilding, Arm-Wrestling (Men And Women) And Weightlifting events will be staged at Alhamra Cultural Complex and the event of mat-wrestling will be organised at Gymnasium Hall NPSC.

The Sports Board Punjab (SBP) officials also gave final touches to the arrangements at various venues of the city. It is expected that a large number of sports loving people will throng the venues to make the grand PYF events a success.
