Man loses eyesight in acid attack

Lahore High Court Complaint Cell took notice of a press report on administrative side that five people threw four bottles of acid on a farmer over a land dispute.

The Cell has directed the District & Sessions Judge, Muzaffargarh to look into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by police along with his own comments within a week.

According to details, Saleem, a resident of Alipur exchanged words with accused Farman, Luqman, Ghulam Rasool, Ramzan and Ashraf over a piece of land. Following which the accused persons poured four bottles of acid on Saleem. The victim was critically injured in the acid attack that badly damaged his eyes. He was shifted to Civil Hospital Shaher Sultan from where doctors referred him to Nishtar Hospital Multan. However, police registered a case and arrested two of the accused.
