Shahbaz Sharif calls on Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar at Governor’s House

Shahbaz Sharif _calls on_ Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar _at _Governor’s HouseLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif met Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar at Governor’s House today. Development projects and welfare programmes for the people of the province were discussed in the meeting.

Talking to the Governor, the Chief Minister said that Punjab government has diverted funds towards welfare and betterment of the masses and uplift projects worth billions of rupees are being executed in the province expeditiously and in a transparent manner. He said that backward areas are being paid special attention in this regard. He said that every effort will be made to make Punjab a model province. He said that government is implementing revolutionary programmes for the empowerment of the youth.

Referring to his recent visit to China, Shahbaz Sharif said that it has produced highly encouraging results and Chinese leadership and officials of various companies during meetings with President Mamnoon Hussain and him had assured investment in energy as well as other sectors. He said that his visit to China was indeed the most successful visit of his entire political life and has resulted in strengthening of economic and trade relations with China.

Describing the policies of Punjab government as exemplary, Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar said that provincial government led by Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken practical measures in the real sense for the welfare and uplift of the masses.

Later, the Chief Minister accompanied by Governor Punjab visited water filtration plant set up at Government Girls High School Governor’s House. The Chief Minister was given a detailed briefing on the filtration plant. Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government has evolved a comprehensive plan for the supply of potable water to the people and a sum of Rs. 10 billion has been allocated for this purpose in the current year. He said that Punjab government will ensure supply of clean drinking water to the entire province during the next five years.
