Musharraf returned to military hospital after appearing in treason court

Lahore: Musharraf returned to military hospital after appearing in treason courtDr Raza Bokhari, international spokesperson for General Pervez Musharraf issued the following statement to various media outlets:

Former President Musharraf, earlier today, temporarily left the military hospital against expert medical advice to appear in the special treason court.

General Musharraf voluntarily signed a waiver before leaving the hospital. At the time of signing the waiver, he remarked:

“I hold the judiciary in high esteem. I must appear in court today to dispel the malicious perception being created that I am against appearing in courts. I have no such ego problems. I have appeared in courts, including lower courts in Karachi, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, more than 16 times in the past year. My non-appearance in this special court is because of medical and legal reasons, on which I will elaborate at a later time.”

General Musharraf continues to receive medical supervision by competent military doctors. We keenly hope the special treason court, while listening to compelling legal arguments challenging its formation, composition and jurisdiction, immediately permits Former President Musharraf to travel outside of Pakistan to seek qualified medical treatment.
