COP SUSPENDED FOR RELATIONS WITH WOMAN

Lahore High Court Complaint Cell has disposed off a notice “Sub Inspector threatened woman to develop illicit relations with him” as the said Sub-Inspector has been suspended from service and the applicant is also engaged in litigation with his ex-wife. Therefore, at this stage no further directions are required by the Cell on administrative side.

According to details, an overseas Pakistani Naseem Ahmad submitted an application that he owned a house at Farooqabad worth millions of rupees where her wife Nabeela Naseem lived alone. He alleged that a police Sub-Inspector Mian Iftikhar wanted to grab his house. He took advantage of the loneliness of his wife, harassed her and had developed illicit relations with her. On this development, he was victim of mental agony in the UK. The applicant also approached police authorities but the Department was reluctant to take action against the official.

Lahore High Court Complaint Cell took cognizance of the issue and directed the Inspector General of Police, Punjab, to look into the matter personally and submit detailed report regarding the allegations levelled in the application. Police reported that Mst. Nabeela was second wife of the applicant who had got divorce from him and litigation between them was also going on. As per report, allegation of illicit relations of the policeman with the ex-wife of the applicant stood proved. On this, he had been suspended from service and facing departmental action.
