Case against General Musharraf will become garland of thorns for govt:Ch Shujat Hussain

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President Senator Ch Shujat Hussain has said that haste case of sedition of the Constitution against General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf is being proceeded in so haste will ultimately become garland of thorns in the neck of the govt because all these proceedings without approval of the Cabinet were victimization and against the principles of justice.

In a statement issued here today, Ch Shujat Hussain said from the news so far one gets the impression that this case has not come under discussion in the formal proceedings of the Cabinet nor any decision as such has been taken in this regard. He said this was an attempt to deviate the attention of the people from real problems, if any decision has been taken by the Federal Cabinet then the govt should have mentioned that. He said because of some reasons, there could be very grave consequences of this case.

Ch Shujat Hussain said further that increasing prices of daily use articles have made the life of the people quite miserable, unemployment was touching new heights, prices of atta, rice and other eatable items have reached intolerable level, for the poor it has become difficult to live, huge bills of gas and electricity have made it difficult for people to breathe, the govt was not paying any attention to these basic issues of the people and it has forgotten all promises it had made with the masses at large.
