Lahore: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) organized three-daylong training workshop to impart training of Medical First Responder to the Patrolling Officers/officials of Motorway Police, Central Zone, Lahore. As many as 30 Patrolling Officers were trained on Initial assessment of injured during accidents on highways, rescue breathing, treatment of foreign body airway obstruction, cardio pulmonary resuscitation and management of spinal injury patients, soft tissue injuries, shocked and mass casualty incident.
The specially designed training course was conducted by the Community Training Wing of the Service and officers/officials were imparted hands on training through practical exercises for management of emergencies along with theoretical lectures. Patrolling Officers appreciated expertise of Rescue Instructors, who imparted training of life saving measures using mannequins.
The DG Rescue Punjab Dr. Rizwan Naseer, DIG NH&MP Central Zone Mirza Shakil Ahmad, Brig. (r) Arshad Zia and Head of Community Safety Wing of Rescue 1122 Ms. Roqiya Bano Javed, course coordinator, were also present on closing ceremony of the course. DIG NH&MP Mirza Shakil while addressing the participants appreciated the Service and training standards of Punjab Emergency Service. He said that it was a matter of great pleasure for him that DG Rescue Punjab Dr. Rizwan Naseer has provided opportunity to the officers of NH&MP on his single request. “My officers have indeed learned a role in accidents handling and management especially rescue of injured persons which is very vital to save the life of a person from permanent disability”, he said, adding that Rescue 1122 is doing a commendable job and he hope to have the same cooperation and coordination in future with best wishes and regards specially for DG Rizwan Naseer and his professional team.
In his concluding remarks, DG Rescue Punjab assured the DIG NH&MP that Rescue 1122 along with instructors was always available to impart training on professional guidelines. He said that this is our Pakistan and we have to join hands and should have to stand shoulder-to-shoulders to build a safer Pakistan.
