Lahore High Court (LHC) has disposed of a notice “husband threw acid on the face of his angry wife” as complete police report of the case has been submitted before the Anti-Terrorism Court, Faisalabad and no further directions are required by the Complaint Cell of the LHC on administrative side because legal proceedings have been initiated in the matter.
According to details, the woman had an exchanged marriage (wata sata) with Arshad. Due to this relations between the spouses and other family members remained soar. Utterance of harsh words and disputes became order of the day even on trivial issues. The estranged woman left home and went to her parents. Her husband went to his in-laws house to reconcile and bring her back but she refused to strike down and settlement. On this, he got hyper and threw a bottle of acid on her face due to which her face got severe burns. She was shifted to Allied Hospital in a critical condition.
On a press report LHC Complaint Cell directed District & Sessions Judge Chiniot to probe the incident and submit a detailed report as to the steps taken by the police along with his own comments so as to reach LHC within a week. The said D&SJ has reported that Langrana police registered a case against accused Arshad, arrested him and complete police report u/s 173 Cr. P.C. against him has been submitted in Anti Terrorism Court, Faisalabad where the case is under trial. On basis of above, as needful has been done Complaint Cell disposed off the notice into the matter.
