Lahore: Strongly reacting to the dismissal of Jamaat e islami Bangladesh leader Abdul Qadir Mullah,s review petition against the death sentence pronounced to him, Secretary General, JI, Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch , said the Pakistan government and the Foreign Ministry had failed to discharge its duty in this regard.
He said that the JI leaders in Bangladesh were being punished for supporting the Pakistan armed forces and their struggle to save the fall of Dhaka, but the rulers in Islamabad were maintaining a criminal silence. It was really shameful, he said, that the Foreign Office had termed the sent4ences of the JI leaders an internal issue of Bangladesh. On the other hand, the pro- India BD government headed by Haseena Wajid, was victimizing the people who had been loyal to Pakistan till the last.
Liaqat Baloch said that the JI, Bangladesh was demanding an Islamic government in that country. The JI and other parties in united opposition there wanted Bangladesh to remain an independent state instead of a mere Indian colony, as this was the demand of the Bangladesh people.
He said the Islamic movements all over the world besides the government of Turkey and Sudan had strongly protested against Haseena Wajid’s policies and had called stopping the victimization of the Islamists.
