Poultry has become the second big industry of Pakistan

Lahore: Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Livestock, Ch. Muhammad Arshad Jutt has said that poultry has become the second big industry of Pakistan in which investment of billions of rupees has been made and business of lakhs of people is linked with it. He said that poultry is also an important source of providing meat and eggs to the people in rural areas.

He said this while presiding over a departmental meeting, here today. Khursheed Ali Zaidi, Additional Secretary Livestock Dr. Muhammad Nawaz Saeed, Director General Extension Dr. Israr Hussain Ch., Director Communication & Extension Dr. Iftikhar Ali, Deputy Secretary Technical Dr.Abdur Rehman, Director Poultry Research Institute Rawalpindi, Director Planning & Evaluation as well as Dr. Qurban Hussain and other officers attended the meeting.

While giving briefing, Dr. Abdur Rehman said that Livestock Department has played a key role in farmers’ training, diagnosis of diseases, poultry feed, rules and regulations and bio-security. He said that Livestock Department took an active part in diagnosis of diseases and during any problem or virus faced by this industry.
