SED to work for rehabilitation of special children:Asif Saeed Manais

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Special Education Asif Saeed Manais has said that Special Education Department is actively engaged in rehabilitation of special children so that they could become the useful citizen of the society.

He said this while presiding over a consultative meeting at School of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Management & Technology Johar Town. Dean of School of Social Sciences Humanities (UMT), Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed, Dr. Shahid Farooq, Noor ul Abbas, Jawaad Ahmed and Chairperson Department of Education Sajid Masood also addressed the meeting.

Asif Saeed Manais said that Special Education Department has taken a number of steps for rehabilitation and providing education to special children for making them useful citizens of the society. He said that besides government, it is also responsibility of the teachers, parents and the society to provide all possible education to special children and behave with them politely and sympathetically.

Provincial Minister said that although it is a difficult job yet the rehabilitation of the children is the best solution. He said that the government is expanding the scope of facilities in educational institutions for special children.

Provincial Minister said that a special committee has been set up for providing facilities to special children and persons. He said that the government will also provide financial assistance to special persons so that they could become self-reliant. Asif Saeed Manais stressed upon the teachers to utilize all their energies for providing education and rehabilitation of children. Later, Asif Saeed Manais also distributed certificates among special children and the participants.
