Government is utilizing all resources to maintain law&order

Lahore: The Minister for Environment Protection and Chairman Police Reforms Committee Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada has said that Punjab government is utilizing all resources to maintain law and order in the province and for welfare of the masses. He said that transparency is the hallmark of Punjab government and all projects are being completed according to this policy.

The Minister said that assistance has been sought from Turkey to equip Punjab police with modern technology. He said that government is going to introduce an accountability system to make police department corruption free and to improve the performance of police officials. He informed that for better investigation of the cases a forensic lab has been installed according to international standards.

Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada stated this while addressing PAF War College 56 members delegation led by Air Vice Marshal Farooq Habib, here today. The Minister said that steps are being taken by the government on urgent basis to cope with energy crisis. He said that the duration of load-shedding has been decreased due to effective measures taken by the government.

Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada said that meeting the needs of energy was the basic purpose of foreign visits of Prime Minister and Chief Minister.

He said that Punjab government has faithfully followed the policy of transparency and merit. He pointed out that completion of metro bus in record time and distribution of laptops among students on merit are the clear evidence of it. He said that Transparency International has also declared Punjab government projects corruption free.

The Minister said that computerization of land record is an important step of Punjab government which will help in elimination of Patwari Mafia and this system will be functional by the end of next year.

Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada said that forensic lab has been established to improve the criminal investigation procedure. He said that amendments have been made in the laws according to the present environment. He stated that Counter Terrorism Force is being set up to root out the evil of terrorism for which educated and efficient people will be recruited on merit basis.

Talking on the occasion, Air Vice Marshal Farooq Habib appreciated the developmental projects of Punjab government, said that transparency in all fields is commendable. Chairman P&D, Home Secretary Punjab, Inspector General of Police and secretaries of other departments were also present on the occasion.
