Special Secretary Health stressed shopkeepers to keep their premises clean

Special Secretary Health-1 Special Secretary Health-2Lahore: Special Secretary Health Punjab Babar Hayyat Tarrar has stressed upon the shopkeepers and godown owners to keep their premises clean and old tyres and discarded articles should not dump on the roofs of buildings to avoid dengue breeding and save themselves from dengue virus. He said that market associations can play an effective role in this regard.

He stated this while talking to the shopkeepers during the visit of secondhand auto parts market in Bilal Gunj area, here today. EDO Health Lahore Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, DDO Health Dr. Sarfraz and other officers were accompanying him. Babar Hayyat Tarrar distributed pamphlets among the shopkeepers pertaining to preventive measures against dengue. He also asked questions from the shopkeepers and vendors regarding the dengue mosquito to assess their awareness about dengue. He also shared information about dengue mosquito and the disease. Special Secretary Health climbed over the roofs of the markets and reviewed the anti-dengue measures. He asked the people to keep their houses, roofs of shops, godowns and factories clean and not to accumulate water for ensuring elimination of dengue mosquitoes.

He urged that old tyres and other scrape should not be thrown on the roofs to check the mosquito breeding. Babar Hayyat Tarrar also supervised the fogging campaign in the market. He asked about the steps taken by the government. People informed him that as a result of vigorous awareness campaign launched by the government, they are very much aware of the dengue and taking all possible measures according to the guidance provided by the government departments.
