1st Intl Conference of PhD Fellows will be held on 23rd of Nov.

Lahore: University of Health Sciences, Lahore (UHS) and The University of Faisalabad (TUF) have jointly organized the 1^stInternational Conference of PhD Fellows / Scholars of Health Sciences which will be held on 23^rd-24^th November 2013 at Salim Campus, The University of Faisalabad. The conference is being sponsored by the Higher Education Commission and supported by Health Sciences universities from all the provinces of Pakistan.

The main aim of the conference is to develop strategies for the promotion of PhD level medical education and this is the first ever event of its kind to identify the ethos and pathos of Health Sciences research in Pakistan. The conference shall also provide an opportunity to PhD academia of Health Sciences Universities to foster educational and research programs of national needs.

On the inauguration day, the conference will be presided over by Prof. Dr. Malik Hussain Mubashar and President, CPSP, Prof. Dr. Zafar Ullah Ch. will be the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Nizamudin (VC, University of Gujrat) and Prof. Dr. Mehmood Shaukat (Principal, Allama Iqbal Medical College) will be the key speakers of the conference.

‘Scientific Sessions’ of the conference comprise of five (5) pre-conference workshops and nine (9) scientific sessions. Internationally renowned speakers from Health Sciences: Prof. J.S.G Biggs (Australia), Prof. David Taylor (UK), Prof. Pokhrel (Nepal), Prof. Gohar Wajid (Saudi Arabia), Prof. Syeda Kausar Ali, Prof. Ayyaz Ali Khan, Prof. Fazal Ghani, Prof. Shakila Zaman, Prof. Mohsin Saeed Khan, Prof. Umar Ali Khan, Prof. Nazia Yazdani, Prof. Moghees Baig and other PhD speakers from the Health Sciences universities of Pakistan will present deliberations.

On the second day of conference, a meeting of worthy Vice Chancellors of the Health Sciences universities of Pakistan will be held. The meeting will develop policy to enhance PhD programs and research projects of medical universities in order to address the health issues and develop research based health care system in Pakistan.

The closing ceremony of the conference will be held on 24^th November 2013. Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, Mrs. Saira Afzal Tarrar will be the Chief Guest. Chairperson, HEC, Engr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani and President, PMDC, Prof. Dr. Masood Hameed Khan will be the Guests of Honor while Vice Chancellor, UHS, Lahore Maj. Gen. (R) Muhammad Aslam will deliver keynote address.
