A watchful eye would be maintain during Muharram

Lahore: Punjab Minister for Excise & Taxation and Finance Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that the government is striving for Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen and sectarian harmony in the society. He asked the law enforcement agencies to depute police officials in plain clothes, special arrangements of lights, monitoring over the roofs and keeping continuous vigilant eye on the routes of Majalis and processions.

Minister ExciseHe said that the government has set up centers at all level for Muharram so that a watchful eye could be maintained on the activities of miscreants, however, no one would be allowed to take law & order in his hands in this sacred month. He directed the divisional administration that wall chalking, banners and posters should be removed and law & order as well as religious harmony should be maintained at local level.

He expressed these views during meeting with divisional administration, Commissioner Lahore Rashid Mahmood, CCPO Lahore Ch. Muhammad Shafique, RPO Abu Bakar, DIG Rana Abdul Jabbar, MNA Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed, MPAs Rana Arshad, Mian Marghoob, Haji Muhammad Nawaz,  ulemas and other members of peace committees at 90-SQA, members of provincial assembly were also present in the meeting.

Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that fool proof arrangements of lightning at Majalis and cleanliness at local level should be ensured and no one should be allowed to enter in the limits of Majalis and procession without complete search. He directed that ladies police and lady volunteers should be deputed in Majalis and nobody should be allowed to enter in Majalis without proper search. He also directed that adjacent streets to the Majalis places should be properly closed for common vehicles and security personals may be appointed so that to stop entrance of doubted persons in Majalis he Minister said that the government is striving for ittehad bain-ul-muslimeen and sectarian harmony in the society.

Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman  said that continuous monitoring of arrangements made for maintaining law & order and religious harmony according to local situation should be carried out continuously particularly during coming days. He directed to maintain uninterrupted supply of electricity and water during timings of Majalis. The ladies police and lady volunteers should be deputed in Majalis and nobody should be allowed to enter in Majalis without proper search, also directed that adjacent streets to the Majalis places should be properly closed for common vehicles and security personals should be appointed so that to stop entrance of doubted persons in Majalis, he added.

Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman  said no Muslim can promote dissension in the society as Muharram-ul-Haram is a sacred month for all believers.  He said that the government has set up centers at all level for Muharram so that a watchful eye could be maintained on the activities of miscreants, however, no one would be allowed to take law & order in his hands in this sacred month. He asked the Ulemas, members of peace committee and elected people to play their due role to maintain atmosphere of love, unity and tolerance among different sections of society during the holy month. He said that protection of all citizens is the responsibility of the government particularly those Ulema and Zaakireen whose lives are under threat.

      Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman  said that the Ulema have deep respect throughout the world and we should highlight the idea of love, affection and accommodation of Islam for establishment of peace in the world. Islam teaches us religious harmony and equality, therefore, we should make hectic efforts for the promotion of mutual love and brotherhood in the society, he concluded.
