Lahore: Punjab Ombudsman Javed Mehmood has ordered to proceed against SP Investigation Sheikhupura, DSP Chichawatni, SHO Ghaziabad, Sahiwal Jawad Afzal, Sub Inspector B.Division Sheikhupura Humayun Rasheed, Sub Inspector Nasir Khan, ASI Pervez Akhtar, ASI Hafizullah, ASI Muhammad Arif, ASI Muhammad Amin and ASI Mumtaz Hussain of police station Mughalpura Lahore for showing negligence, poor investigation in the cases and not implementing the orders of Ombudsman Punjab.
In the light of report submitted by Advisor Investigation Muhammad Alamgir Khan, Ombudsman Punjab has issued necessary instructions to IG Punjab, RPO Sahiwal, DIG Lahore and CCPO Lahore in this regard.
According to details, Muhammad Saeed Shah had submitted an application to Ombudsman Punjab that due to dacoity at his residence, the dacoits looted jewelry, cash and motorcycle but Sub Inspector of Police Station Tibbi Division and Investigation Officer Humayun Rasheed did not arrest the culprits despite identifying them and not taking interest in investigation.
Ombudsman Punjab directed Advisor Investigation Muhammad Alamgir Khan to conduct inquiry. According to the inquiry report of advisor investigation, investigation officer Humayun Rasheed neither conducted investigation on right direction nor made any effort to arrest the accused or recovered the stolen articles and nor SP Investigation Sheikhupura correctly supervised the investigation.
Ombudsman Punjab has ordered IG Punjab and DIG Lahore to take action against both the officers. Munir Ahmad of Chichawatni submitted an application that SHO Police Station Ghaziabad Jawad Afzal arrested the accused involved in a dacoity and released them after taking heavy bribe. Ombudsman Punjab conducted inquiry which revealed that SHO and DSP by displaying negligence, have not taken any legal action against culprits.
Sabira Sultana of Manawan Lahore submitted an application to Ombudsman Punjab that her son along with his friends was passing in front of police station Moghulpura for purchasing clothes and police arrested them and later tortured and kept them in a house near Railways High School in illegal custody for many days. Later, police challaned them in 13 false cases and three old cases but in the inquiry of CCPO all cases proved false and action was recommended against the police officers which was not being complied.
In the light of the inquiry report of advisor investigation Muhammad Alamgir Khan, Ombudsman Punjab has ordered CCPO Lahore to take action against Sub Inspector Nasir Khan, ASI Pervez Akhtar, ASI Hafeezullah, ASI Muhammad Arif, ASI Muhammad Ameen and ASI Mumtaz Hussain of police station Moghulpura for registering false cases and involving in old cases illegally and submit a report to Ombudsman Punjab within fifteen days.
