PM’s China visit boosts national morale: PEW

Lahore: The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Wednesday said the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sahrif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to China has boosted the morale of of the general population and business community.

The visit retold the desire of the PM to resolve energy crisis on sustainable basis and take all necessary steps to put country on the path of development, it said.

The visit of CM to Qatar may boost the process of LNG import which will help mitigate energy crisis, said Dr Murtaza Mughal, President PEW.

He said that confidence building measures with India should be accelerated at New Delhi will attract seven per cent of all the global investments by 2030 which will benefit whole region.

Nation supports agenda of PML-N to eradicate powerty through development as past government interrupted the process of recovery by mismanagement, said Dr Murtaza Mughal.

He said that relations withChina, an all-weather friend, should remain the highest priority as Beijinghaving a GDP of 8.227 trillion dollars is poised to attract 30 per cent of global investments by 2030.

Handing over of Gwadar Port to China was one of the most prudent decisions ever taken by Pakistani leadership which will open new avenues of cooperation and development, he said.

Dr Murtaza Mughal said that foreign investment in developing economies which was 1.3 trillion in 2010 will be 13 trillion dollars by 2030 therefore people of developing nations will own 64 dollars out of every 100 dollars saved anywhere in the globle, he informed.

He said that we have wasted a lot of time, rather decades, now our policymakers should realise major shifts in patterns of investment, saving, and capital flows and explores ways beneficial for future of Pakistan.
