Punjab govt constitutes committees against profiteers

Lahore : Provincial Minister for Education and Tourism, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has constituted special teams for taking action against profiteers during Ramazan. These teams led by Price Control Magistrates will conduct raids in different markets and arrest the shopkeepers involved in artificial price-hike as well as ensure imposition of fine and punishment by the court.

This was stated by him at inauguration of the project of rehabilitation of non-functional tube well in Jehangir Town from where he was elected, here today. Addressing the function, the Minister said that the government will try its best to maintain a balance between the demand and supply of essential items so that their prices remain stable in the market.

The Minister who is also the chairman of the cabinet committee set up for the purpose of implementation of Ramazan package of Chief Minister Punjab to provide relief to the masses said that the elected government will uphold the interest of the consumers at any cost. He said that the project of rehabilitation of non-functional tube well of Jehangir Town will be completed next week and during this period, water tankers of WASA will provide potable water to the people

Later, the Minister inaugurated a mobile phone shop set up by a local PML-N leader at Moon Market. He also went to the residences of local PML-N workers whose relatives had died during the last one month and offered Fateha.
