Chinies govt made PM Nawaz Sharif visit successful

Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that success of the visit of Pakistani leadership to China was not possible without the personal interest taken by the Chinese leaders. He said that Chinese government has proved to be a true friend of Pakistan and the visit has paved the way for several projects in energy, transport and infrastructure sectors in the province.

He was talking to the journalists upon reaching the Chinese industrial city Guangzhou today. The Chief Minister said that besides agreements in energy sector, the delegation of Punjab government also reached an initial agreement with the Chinese Public Sector Construction Company for launching metro bus system and underground bus service in five cities of the province including Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala. He said that these projects worth billions of rupees will be executed under public-private partnership and the delegation of Chinese company will soon visit Punjab for this purpose.

Similarly, a Chinese company has expressed willingness for the study of Chiniot Rajwah project for excavation of coal. According the experts, the coal reserves found in this area are no less than 600 million tons. In response to a question, the Chief Minister said that wherever he went, the Chinese experts lauded the standard of metro bus service in Lahore. However, he said, it is unfortunate that some short-sighted elements in Pakistan are still criticizing this bus service. He said that hospitals, educational institutions and streetlights will be given preference in solar energy projects. The Chief Minister said that rehabilitation of Nandipur power project reflects the confidence of international community in the transparency of Punjab government.
