Govt receives 1.3 Million fine from 137 hotels for selling unhygienic food

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food, Bilal Yasin has said that provision of hygienic food is the priority of Health Department and Punjab Food Authority is fulfilling its responsibilities in an efficient manner.

The Minister told that Punjab Food Authority, during the last three months, has sealed 137 hotels and restaurants for preparing unhygienic food besides imposing a fine of Rs.1,379,800 to the persons selling substandard food items. He further said that strict action would be taken against adulterators as per law and no leniency would be shown to them.
