9dead, 651injured in 545 accidents

Lahore: Total 545 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 09 lives were reported dead and 463 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 188 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details, 260 drivers, 18 underage drivers, 94 pedestrians and 306 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 126 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 132 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 54 RTAs in Faisalabad with 59 victims and Multan remained at third position with 40 RTAs and 52 victims.

The details further show that total 660 in victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 546 males and 114 females, while age group of the victims show that 96 were under 18 year of age, 404 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 160 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 408 motorbikes, 63 auto rickshaws, 51 motorcars, 23 vans, 13 passenger buses, 25 trucks and 70 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
