LHC notice a man’s death with police torture

Lahore:Lahore High Court on Saturday took notice of the news published in a section of press that a man died in alleged police torture in the suburban area of Faisalabad. District & Sessions Judge, Faisalabad has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.

According to details, Ali Raza Abad police raided a gambling den in Kaleem Shaheed Colony and tortured one Ghulam Rasool to death. After the incident, family of Ghulam Rasool staged a protest in Chohar Majra Chowk placing his dead body on road and demanded registration of case against ASI Waqas for killing the Ghulam Rasool.

LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit report within a week positively.
