Pakistan US Business Conference is being organized in Dubai

(Islamabad)  In an effort to expand the business, commerce and trade relations between Pakistan and United States a special conference entitled the Pakistan US Business Conference is being organized in Dubai on 25th June which will be attended by top companies from United States.   The Commerce Ministry in Pakistan is working closely with US Embassy in Islamabad in order to make the conference a success. Pakistan’s side will be represented by Senator Ishaq Dar, Minister of Finance,  Ahsan Iqbal Federal Minister for Planning, Khawaja Asif  Federal Minister for Water& Power and Ambassador Javed Malik who is already in the UAE to coordinate with the Pakistan Embassy and Ministry of Commerce.

According to well informed sources in Ministry of Finance and  Ministry of Foreign Affairs  Pakistan delegation will be led by Senator Ishaq Dar who will also make the keynote speech along with Daniel Fieldman, US deputy Special Representative on Afghanistan and Pakistan, and US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson. 
More than 100 top US Companies have confirmed their presence at the Conference and the focus of the discussions and presentations will be on Energy as well as Agro Business.  Pakistan would be making a case to better market access whereas US companies would be invited to invest in Pakistan which offers lucrative returns.
The Conference comes at an important time when the new democratic government has taken office in Pakistan and this is likely to give a fresh boost to the efforts from both sides, as they would be keen to make some progress. The conference is also likely to reflect positively on the Pakistan-US relationship as it would highlight that both countries are cooperating and working together on more than just security matters and are in fact engaged in positive efforts to increase bilateral trade and seek new avenues of bilateral cooperation.
The two day conference will comprise of panel discussions, and sector specific briefings by Pakistani officials, as well as Q& A with Pakistani and US Officials.  A welcome reception will also be hosted by former Ambassador Javed Malik who is based in UAE.
