Lahore High Court on Wednesday took notice of the news published in a section of press that a female school teacher gang raped and thrown in fields in the suburban area of Khanewal. District & Sessions Judge, Khanewal has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.
According to details, 26-years-old teacher, resident of Kacha Khuh, told police that three men had pushed her into a car when she was on her way to school and taken to Shorkot in Jhang District. She said five men molested her over two days. When her condition deteriorated, they threw her in the field near her home and fled. Some neighbours saw her and informed the police. She was shifted to the Kacha Khuh rural health centre for a medico-legal examination which confirmed gang rape. Residents of the area have condemned the incident and have demanded that the rapists be publicly hanged. However, a case has been registered against three suspects nominated by the family of victim and police are looking for the suspected accused.
LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit report within a week positively.
