Extreme traffic jam witnessed in the city

Lahore: An extreme traffic jam from Muslim Town to Qartuba Chowk, Canal Road and Jail Road due to the absence of traffic wardens from their duties troubled commuters and motorists alike.

Commuters and transporters had to face trouble due to the traffic jam. They said that traffic wardens has made it a routine matter to hide in surrounding palace including banks, hotels and shops where to enjoy A/C cooling putting the transporters and commuters at the mercy of traffic jam.

It has become a daily routine for us to bear the pain of hours long traffic jam, motorist, jamil, who was trapped in traffic jam, said.

“We have failed to understand that where these wardens get to go. It seems that no one is there to question them,” Luqman said.

He said that it has become a common observation that traffic wardens stand at the hiding place in awkward positions enjoying ice cream, corns, smoking and gossiping by mobile phone hours late. They dam care clearance of the road to make it smooth flow of the traffic.

Amina said that the wardens are so throne-hearted that they don’t care for ambulances. She said that ambulances that need smooth road often seen in traffic mass throughout the road between Muslim Town to Qurtuba Chowk.

She said that following the construction Metro Bus, a landmark project in Punjab, the traffic mass has gained momentum. Amina said that it seem that the traffic police has been assigned the task to make the excellent Metro Bus project unpopular among the public.

She urged CM to take notice of the negligence of the traffic wardens of the area who often remain out of the cites.
