Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has stressed upon the new government to fulfill its election promises instead of disappointing the people through their statements.
Talking to JI workers from Mianwali attending the JI central workshop at
Mansoora, he said the nation fully knew the mess that had been created by the outgoing rulers and it would take time to tide over the situation However, he said, if the new government was able to grapple with the demon of corruption, more than 50 per cent of our problems would be solved.
Syed Munawar Hasan said within a fortnight of the takeover of the new government, its ministers had started issuing statements that were causing disappointment among the people. This was bound to create hatred for the rulers among the people, he warned.
He said the rulers of a nation under heavy debt should not travel in long queues of limousines. They should adopt austerity, cut down the unnecessary spending and serve the masses in true spirit, and make honest efforts to solve the problems facing the country and the nation.
