LHC notice acid attack on a woman

Lahore High Court on Wednesday took notice of the news published in a section of press that a man attacked his relative woman with acid in the suburban area of Toba Tek Singh. District & Sessions Judge, Toba Tek Singh has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.

According to details, Asma Azeem, resident of Nawaz Town, told the city police that she had come to see her parents when Mujahid Hussain and his three accomplices entered the house, threw acid on her and escaped. She received serious injuries and was admitted to the district headquarters hospital. Revealing to the police, she added that she had opposed her nephew’s marriage with Mujahid’s daughter and in revenge he threw acid on her.

LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit report within a week positively.
