Police impose ban on sale of petrol on shops

DIG Jawad Ahmad DogarLahore: On the instructions of CCPO, Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG Operations Jawad Dogar while implementing a strategy of averting incidents like Gujrat, has directed Lahore police and Traffic police to check all the vehicles plying in the city and ensure that no petrol is being carried out in drums or bottles.

DIG Operations has also ordered action against those involved in the sale of petrol through illegal petrol agencies and on open shops. He directed all the police officers in Lahore to take special steps along with vehicle fitness inspectors for checking use of LPG in the vehicles in their respective areas and take action as per law against the violators.

He also directed to take necessary action against the owners of CNG stations involved in gas hoarding. DIG Operations said that purpose of all such measures is to protect lives of the citizens and save them from incidents like Gujrat.
