Caretakers should act to minimize load shedding:Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore:  Punjab chief minister-designate Shahbaz Sharif Friday demanded that the caretaker government take immediate steps to overcome extreme load shedding in the country.

“Up to 20 hours of load shedding a day in these simmering weather conditions has made the lives of people miserable,” he said in a statement. He urged the caretaker government to understand the seriousness of the issue and adopt measures to provide relief to people.

“People are unable to understand why the federal interim government, which has been making major reshuffles in bureaucracy, is not taking notice of extreme power outages,” Shahbaz said.

“I believe that these caretakers will be remembered as most inefficient leaders in the country’s history if they don’t fulfil their responsibility with regard to the prevailing energy crisis.” He said that soon after winning the May 11 vote, PML-N has started working on ways to end load shedding.
