Acid attack on a woman and her daughters for resisting rape

Lahore High Court on Saturday took notice of the news published in a section of press that acid was thrown on a woman and her daughters for resisting a rape attempt in Multan. District & Sessions Judge, Multan has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.

According to details, Ghulam Muhammad, resident of Naurangabad told police that his wife Azizan Bibi and two daughters, were sleeping when accused persons Altaf Baloch and Nazeer allegedly barged into the house and tried to commit rape with the girls. Azizan Bibi and her daughters raised alarm which made both the culprits angry. They threw acid on victims and ran away. The victims were shifted to Nishtar Hospital where Azizan and her one daughter were admitted as they were in critical condition because they had suffered 50 per cent burn injuries. The other girl, who suffered minor burns, was sent home after first aid. However, police registered the case and arrested one accused but other managed to flee.

LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit report within a week positively.
