6 dead 607 injured in 479 accidents in Punjab

Lahore: Total 479 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of the Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 06 lives were lost and 399 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 208 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.

According to the details, 196 drivers, 112 pedestrians and 305 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 112 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 159 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 55 RTAs in Faisalabad with 66 victims and Multan remained at third position with 36 RTAs and 51 victims.

The details further show that total 613 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 492 males and 121 females, while age group of the victims show that 111 were under 18 year of age, 357 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 142 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 393 motorbikes, 61 auto rickshaws, 54 motor cars, 13 vans, 2 passenger buses, 10 trucks and 50 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
