Sargodha police fails attempt of terror

Lahore: On the orders of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Aftab Sultan, snap-checking has been intensified at the entry and exit points of all the districts in the province.

In this regard, on a tip-off today, District Police Officer Sargodha, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry constituted a special team headed by DSP Bhalwal and comprising SHO Phularwan Inspector Khalid Mahmood. The team stopped a suspected vehicle that was coming from Islamabad at the Salam interchange.

During the search, the police recovered huge cache of weapons stashed in the secret parts of the vehicle including 07 Kalashnikovs, 07 automatic rifles, 43 pistols (30-bore), 14 Kalashnikovs magazines, 14 12-bore magazines, 900 bullets (7mm), 800 bullets (44-bore), 1200 Kalashnikovs bullets, and 4500 bullets of pistol (30-bore).

The arrested accused, who belongs to Sakhar city of the Sindh province, is being interrogated in this regar
