Lahore: The Command and Control Centers established in the police headquarters at provincial, regional, and district level on the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Aftab Sultan, have been made functional for the elections 2013.
These centers are working round-the-clock in three shifts and under the supervision of an officer of SP or DSP rank.
The Center set up in the Central Police Office is connected with all the centers operating across the Punjab province and is also responsible for monitoring and checking of violations of code of conduct besides ensuring strict action against the violators. These centers are also ordered to implement the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan on daily basis and ensure foolproof security for the minorities, political leaders and international observers besides monitoring the media reports to present it before the IGP in case of any important happening.
Every In-charge at these centers is bound to verify any information from the concerned district in order to legal ensure action.
As per the orders of the IGP, these centers would remain in regular contact with the Command and Control Centers at district, regional, and provincial level. These centers would also keep close liaison with the Special Branch, CTD, Commissioner Office, and DCOs all over the province.
